What about 16,000 km? That’s about 9,942 miles. Well Gu Yue and his friend Liu Chang did just that. But instead of taking a plane, train or car they hitchhiked from Beijing to Berlin to visit Gu Yue’s girlfriend Ika. It took 3 and a half months and 88 hitch rides to travel through 13 countries. Besides traveling by car, the duo also traveled by tricycle, tractor and carriage.
Chinese netizens have dubbed this cross country trip “the most romantic hitch-hike in history”.
After Gu Yue reached his girlfriend, Ika said to her boyfriend “next time you want to see me, take the plane.”

Seriously, this is an awesome story and someone should turn this story into a movie or maybe even a television show or something.
