megamantenThis one is for all the “hardcore” old school video gamers out there.  With a few exceptions there is no video game series more “hardcore” than the Mega Man series.  This 2D side scrolling action platformer is known for it’s unforgiving trial-and-error gameplay.  Gamers with reflexes like a Cheetah and tons of patience have enjoyed this series while others remember smashing their controllers on the wall out of sheer frustration after dying dozens of in-game deaths.

Modern iterations of the Mega Man games have embraced current trends in gameplay and graphics.  But last year’s release of Mega Man 9 took the series to a decidedly retro direction by perfectly emulating the old school graphics and gameplay of the 80’s Mega Man games, glitches and all.  And the release of Mega Man 10 seems to continue that trend to the delight (or dismay) of old school gamers every where.  One big change is the addition of an “easy” mode that will hopefully attract more casual gamers not willing to sacrifice so many virtual lives due to the insane difficulty of the game.  Old school gaming has been making a comeback in the past few years and it seems like it’s still going strong.  Enjoy the trailer!
