Rumor Mill: Korean actress Han Ye-seul meets with ‘Twilight’ Producer
Popular Korean actress Han Ye-seul has reportedly met with Hollywood producer Mark Morgan of “The Twilight Saga” film series during his visit to Korea according to Asaie.co.kr.
The article mentions two possibilities:
- She could possibly have a role in one of the upcoming “Twilight” films. I haven’t read the books so I have no idea if there are any Asian characters in the books. But I personally don’t think this is a likely scenario.
- The most plausible possibility is that she will star in the Hollywood remake of the Korean horror film “Phone”. Mark Morgan was in Korea to announce the news of the remake which his production company Imprint Entertainment (no relation to ImprintTalk.com) will take part in. The original director of “Phone”, Ahn Byung-ki, has stated that it is highly likely a Korean actress will star in the Hollywood remake he is also slated to direct.
So there you go. Hollywood seems to be transfixed on Asia right now importing the most popular actors and actresses to co-star in American films. But if the second rumor is true this would, as far as I know, be the first time a Korean actress would actually headline a Hollywood produced film. Of course, knowing how Hollywood works, she’ll probably just get second billing to which ever popular young blond they hire to co-star with her. Cynical? Sure, but still true nonetheless.
