Youtube Spotlight: Jabronie Pictures
With a love for Hong Kong action movies, Korean romantic comedies, Star Wars, wrestling, anime and video games Jabronie Pictures has established itself as one of the more unique channels on youtube. Fernando “Jay” Huerto, along with Sunny Smith and Nathan Aguilera, make short films as diverse as the source material that inspire them. Jabronie Pictures has been building a growing fan base with this quirky mixture of humor, action, American and Asian pop culture – from the random musings of a wannabe suburban gangsta Silent Jay (Silence is Golden) to the heroic adventures of a college student who moonlights as a Japanese tokusatsu style superhero (Battle Hero Absolute).
The video that I’m using to highlight them is actually the trailer to Fernando Huerto’s first long form film “It Might Be You”. It’s actually a change of pace compared to his faster paced action heavy shorts as it is his ode to Korean romantic comedy/dramas and it definitely evokes the feeling of that genre pretty well. This film also shows Fernando’s maturation as a director and an actor.
You can see the whole film, along with the rest of the short films from Jabronie Pictures, at their official youtube channel:
