Manny Pacquiao defeats Cotto in 12th round
Congrats to Manny Pacquiao for his tremendous win over Miguel Cotto. The fight was stopped by the referee during the 12th round as Manny was about to unleash another set of devastating combos on Cotto. Cotto managed to show his power early in the fight, but Manny took over after inflicting his second knock down against Cotto during the 4th round. From then on Manny was just too fast and too tough for Cotto. The fight demonstrated that not only can Manny still fight with great speed, power and accuracy at welterweight, he also has a good chin that can take a full power shot from a pretty good welterweight fighter.
This marks the first time that any fighter has won championship titles in seven different divisions. And now it begs the question:
Who’s next?
All signs point to a possible Manny Pacquiao/Floyd Mayweather showdown, but time will tell whether or not that match up will actually happen.
But right now it’s Manny’s time to shine in the spotlight. With this win there is no question that Manny Pacquiao is now one of the greatest and most popular boxers in the whole world.
Since I can’t post any footage of the fight, here’s a humorous video on his “early fight career”. Enjoy!
