interlaceTalk about an interesting and progressive design!  The project hasn’t been built yet, but the design is sure to turn more then a few heads.  Contrasting with Singapore’s normal vertical residential buildings, the interlacing nature of the structure symbolizes the integrated and interconnectedness of the communal living areas.  And the structure is supposed to take advantage of it natural surroundings.

I just think it looks really cool.

And it just goes to show that not all the cool and wacky building designs come from Japan or China (remember that “bird’s nest” stadium from last year’s Olympic games?).  To bad such forward thinking design concepts are not that prevalent in the United States (outside of really cool baseball and football stadiums).  Here’s hoping that this will start a world wide trend in interlaced themed design!
