Masi Oka, he who is Hiro Nakamura on NBC’s “Heroes”, is set to executive produce a movie about MMORPG players coming together to become heroes in the real world.  The idea for the film is from the mind of Masi Oka himself and he has tapped writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman to produce the film as well.  A possilbe director for the film would be DJ Caruso, the same director who worked on Orci and Kurtzman’s Eagle Eye.  The script will be penned by former PC Gamer editor turned screenwriter Gary Whitta.  Expect the film to be the in vein of the classic 1980’s family adventure films like The Goonies or Back to the Future.

A movie about gamers sounds great! It’s a very different topic for a movie, for sure, so I am curious as to how it turns out. Go Masi Oka for taking a chance with this artistic creation!
