i’m all for promoting asian and asian-americans in media, but it seems like they’re scraping the bottom of the barrel with some of these nominees. brett ratner and philip g. atwell for best directors? devon aoki for best actress? i thought rush hour 3 was entertaining, but far from being an “outstanding” film. and war was just plain old laughable with one of the worst plot twists ever in the history of cinema. at least the television nominees list is respectable and just goes to show how much more of a presence asians have on mainstream television.
