At the LSU Louisiana State U Museum of Art there’s an exhibition on Japanese Robot toys. The fella, Warren Schwartz, has worked on books, and articles for magazines, and this is one of the first exhibitions of Japanese robots from the heyday of diecast toys in the mid-70s. The robots from this period were heavy, with limited plastic parts, mostly metal, and firing mechanisms. It’s a period after the tin toys, and before the plastic toy madness.

In Southern California, the Los Angeles Toy, Doll, and Amusements Museum will have it’s first exhibition featuring “designer” vinyl toys!
