Pretty awesome cover of Eminem’s Love The Way You Lie by afterschoolspecial’s danakadan featuring Krystle Cruz and Pj Ortiz Luis. afterschoolspecial wanted to do something for Krystle Cruz whose debut album comes out July 27. Pj Ortiz provides the beatboxing. Let us know what you think of this cover in the comments below!
Full disclosure: I actually work with danakadan as we both are staff members for the San Diego Asian Film Foundation. In fact the location of this video is right outside the SDAFF office!
It’s been a year since the death of the “king of pop” Micheal Jackson. He was preparing to go on a world wide tour before his death so obviously many people associated with that tour were greatly affected by his passing. If you’ve seen the feature documentary THIS IS IT you’ve seen the faces and the talent that was ready and eager to perform with MJ all over the world. None stuck out more than Judith Hill, the half-Japanese and half-Black female vocalist who would have sung back up and a few duets with MJ. Studio 36o has an interview with Judith Hill where she discusses what she’s up to know and her thoughts on MJ. Take a listen!
Another time lapse, tilt shift viral video this time showcasing Tokyo, Japan all set to some Jpop music. Talk about seeing a something from a whole new perspective! I don’t know how much longer this fad is going to last but we are getting some visually interesting images and video out of all this. Check out the vid and let us know what you think!
Another viral video and this time it’s a violinist Teppei Okada to actual Super Mario Bros. gameplay. Not only does he accurately replicate the different theme songs during the game he also recreates the sound effects all with his violin. Very nerdy but also very cool.
What was once an unfounded rumor last month is now a reality this month. It seems that the prior reports of Charice joining Glee next season were indeed just rumors. But it seems those rumors have sorta kinda led Charice to actually landing some sort of role in the popular Fox comedy-drama-musical.
I say some sort of role only because we don’t know yet whether or not it’s just a guest spot as herself or if she’s being cast as a one time character or a reoccurring role . Details of her role will obviously become revealed as we near the next season of Glee. Her casting may have been influenced by the crazy huge response her rumored casting caused on the internetz last month.
In the meantime, congratulations to Charice! Her popularity in the US seems to just be soaring at the moment which is well deserved as far as I’m concerned. Let us know what you think about Charice on Glee in the comments below!
I think this is a real Japanese commercial using Jamiroquai’s innovative music video “Virtual Insanity” to sell some Nissin Cup Noodles. I honestly don’t know what to think of this. There’s some weird over dubbing to the lyrics to suit the commercial and also some fairly crappy CGI to match the lip sync to the new lyrics. It’s just all rather odd. But that’s just me. Check out the commercial and tell us what you think!
